Are you tired of the same old boring breakfast options?
Look no further because I have a delightful and indulgent breakfast treat that will surely become your new favorite – Toasted Texas Toast with Clotted Cream and Lemon Curd paired with Earl Grey Milk Tea. This combination of flavors is a match made in breakfast heaven, bringing together the richness of clotted cream, the tanginess of lemon curd, and the comforting aroma of Earl Grey tea.
I am obsessed with this breakfast for several reasons. The taste is very addictive. I end up having at least 2 slices of this heavenly toast each morning, and I crave it. Watching the British Baking Show on Netflix introduced me to clotted cream and lemon curd. I am not the greatest baker, but I wanted to try this combo out in a way that was more accessible for me. So, I went to my local Whole Foods and found 2 products that come straight from England – clotted cream and lemon curd. They both can be found in the cheese section, and look carefully as they can be hard to spot. The friendly staff are happy to assist you as I am short, and they are always placed up high, LOL. After trying them on a slice of toasted Texas toast, I was blown away by the creamy and zesty combination.
To make this delectable breakfast, you will need a few simple ingredients:
- Texas Toast (thick-cut bread)
- Clotted cream
- Lemon curd
- Loose Leaf Earl Grey Leaves
- Your choice of milk (dairy or non-dairy) (I used Oak Milk by Oatly)
- Your choice of Sweetener (I used brown sugar cubes)
Directions:
- Start by steeping a tablespoon of loose-leaf Earl Grey leaves in hot water for about 3-5 minutes or until you reach your desired tea strength and set it aside.
- Use a small pot and heat your choice of milk over low-medium heat until it begins to steam, being careful not to let it boil.
- Next, toast a slice of Texas Toast until golden brown. (I used a toaster)
- While the toast is toasting, take your clotted cream and lemon curd out of the refrigerator to soften slightly.
- Once the toast is done, spread a generous amount of clotted cream on one side.
- Then, spread a layer of lemon curd on the clotted cream.
6. Carefully lift the slice of Texas Toast and gently place it on a serving plate.
7. By this time, your tea should have steeped to perfection.
8. Pour the steaming tea into a cup 3/4 of the way and add your desired sweetener.
9. Top off the tea with warmed-up milk and stir it quickly.
10. Enjoy your breakfast!
This delightful combination of toasted Texas toast with clotted cream and lemon curd paired with Earl Grey milk tea is a match made in breakfast heaven. The creamy and tangy flavors of the clotted cream and lemon curd perfectly complement the buttery toast. The addition of Earl Grey milk tea adds a fragrant and slightly floral note that enhances the overall experience. Each bite of the toast is a delightful combination of textures and flavors – the crunchy toast, the smooth and luscious clotted cream, and the bright and zesty lemon curd.
I hope this recipe brings you as much joy and satisfaction as it has brought me. Give it a try, and let me know how you like it!
Happy Eating!
