Baked Grapefruit with Condensed Milk: A Nourishing Recipe for Self-Care and Connection

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!! 🎉

Wishing you all a wonderful and prosperous year, as well as good health! I am so excited for this year, and I hope you are as well!

In today’s fast-paced world, it’s essential to carve out moments of self-care and connection. One simple yet delicious way to do this is by indulging in a comforting snack or breakfast treat like Baked Grapefruit with Condensed Milk. This delightful recipe is not only nourishing for the body but also provides a much-needed break from the chaos of everyday life. As the saying goes, “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day,” what better way to start your day than with a refreshing twist on a classic fruit? I was introduced to this delightful recipe by a lovely Bed and Breakfast host in Maine, and it has quickly become a favorite in my household. Grapefruit is a fantastic source of vitamins and antioxidants, known for its immune-boosting properties. It’s also a great way to add variety to your breakfast routine and explore new flavors.

Not only does it provide a burst of citrusy flavor, but when baked, it becomes warm and juicy, making it even more enticing. It plumps up the grapefruit segments and enhances its natural sweetness. When I first had it I did not know what to expect, but the combination of the tart grapefruit and creamy condensed milk was divine. I had 2 servings on my first try and immediately knew it was a recipe I wanted to share with others.

To make this delightful treat, you’ll need just a few ingredients:

  • 1 large grapefruit
  • 2 tablespoons of condensed milk

Here are the instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Cut the grapefruit in half and use a knife to loosen the segments from the pith.

3. Place the grapefruit halves on a baking sheet or in a baking dish, cut side up.

4. Drizzle the condensed milk evenly over the top of each grapefruit half.

5. Bake the grapefruit for 10-12 minutes or until the condensed milk is golden brown and bubbly.

6. Remove the grapefruit from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

7. Serve & Enjoy!

Now, while your grapefruit is baking, take a moment to reflect on the importance of self-care. As you take the first bite of this warm and indulgent treat, allow yourself to pause and savor each mouthful. Feel the warmth of the baked grapefruit and the creamy sweetness of the condensed milk melt in your mouth. Enjoy the deliciousness of this warm and sweet treat on your own, taking a moment to savor each bite and appreciate the flavors.

While in Maine, I was with my sister, and I remember having this for breakfast and just talking and laughing together. This recipe brings such lovely memories for me, and I hope you make some, too, while eating this treat.

I hope this recipe allows you to take a break, spend time with a friend or loved one, or even just as your breakfast.

Happy Resting!
