Chinese Five-Spice Blend – Quick and Easy Recipe for Added Umami

- 1 tablespoon Szechuan pepper
- 1 tablespoon fennel seed
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon star anise
- 1 tablespoon cloves
- Add Salt and pepper to taste
Grind each spice separately using a spice grinder, mortar, and pestle until they reach a fine powder consistency.
Combine the ground Szechuan pepper, fennel seed, cinnamon, star anise, and cloves in a small bowl.
Mix well until all the spices are evenly distributed.
Transfer the mixture to an airtight container and store in a cool, dry place.
